Insurance & Coverage

We believe that navigating insurance should be as stress-free as possible. To support you, we are directly In-Network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Illinois PPO.

What this means for you:

If you carry a commercial BCBS PPO card, we will handle the billing directly. Depending on your specific plan, you may only be responsible for a standard copay or coinsurance amount once your annual deductible is met.

Important Note on Narrow Networks: Please note that we are not in-network with Blue Choice, HMO plans, or Medicaid/Community Health plans. If your card features a "Blue Choice" logo, your sessions will be processed under our out-of-network or private pay options.

Out-of-Network & Private Pay

If you carry an insurance plan other than Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO (such as Aetna, Cigna, or a narrow-network PPO), you can still receive care at Wildroot Relationship Therapy. Many insurance plans offer robust Out-of-Network (OON) benefits that reimburse you for a significant portion of your therapy costs provided you submit a Superbill.

How the Superbill Process Works:

  1. You pay our standard private fee at the time of your session.

  2. At the end of each month, we provide you with a specialized invoice called a Superbill.

  3. You submit this Superbill directly to your insurance company.

  4. Your insurance company reimburses you directly according to your plan's out-of-network mental health coverage.

How to Verify Your Benefits

To prevent any financial surprises, we highly recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card before our first session. Here are the exact questions to ask them:

  1. Does my plan cover outpatient behavioral health benefits for office code 90837 (Individual) or 90847 (Couples)?

  2. Is Wildroot Relationship Therapy PLLC considered an in-network provider for my specific plan?

  3. Do I have a deductible to meet before my mental health benefits kick in? If so, how much is remaining?

  4. (If Out-of-Network): What is my out-of-network reimbursement rate for an out-of-network licensed therapist?

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. If you are a private-pay or out-of-network client, we will provide you with a clear, written estimate of your projected session costs before you begin treatment.
